PROGRAMMING

An initial interior design consultation establishes a clear vision for your project. We discover and define by analyzing your exact needs and desires relevant to all aspect’s of your daily life, after which a concise scope of work is agreed upon that will suit your individual or family’s needs. Whether we’re designing one room or an entire home, our end goal is to define your vision along with any limits or non negotiables that factor in. Through our initial meeting and subsequent conversations, a synergy between designer & client emerges, informing unanswered questions resulting in a true partnership.

Our thorough discovery process gives us the information we need to analyze and evaluate all the design possibilities. We capture everything from the nitty-gritty necessities to the bespoke gestures that make a project unique. This “pre-design” phase allows us to smoothly transition into the visual aspects of our process, beginning with story and concept. A thorough review of existing architectural plans is completed to ensure all possibilities are uncovered.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

Our collaborative design process always begins at concept. What story are we telling? Does the architectural style of your home or building inform the interiors? What influencing factors must be considered? Designer and Client are immediately thrust into the throws of ideation to answer these towering questions that will act as our North Star throughout the project’s duration.

Hunting & gathering (for imagery), to convey the narrative is first and foremost. Hand sketches work in concert with images procured, allowing us to envision the three dimensional aspects of key design elements. The results are presented in a digitally formatted design presentation with various options and ideas allowing a clear vision to emerge.

As we continue to evaluate the scope of work as it relates to budget, the schematic design process allows us to decide what exactly will be built and where each element, whether it be furniture or custom cabinetry, will ultimately be placed. We explore different finish options, fabrics and lighting as well as various materials and fixtures, all of which informs a beautifully packaged presentation. Collaboration is the name of the game as we mix and match options to form a bespoke program for your space. Most importantly, an appraisal of physical material samples and finishes takes place at this time.

design development

During design development, our team further refines all elements of the design, with an end goal of finalizing all details, finishes, fixture selections including appliances and equipment. Digital renderings and final finish selections are presented for approval. Furniture and window treatments are reviewed as well. Our design team gathers specifications for every single item from plumbing fixtures to brush fringe.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION

Putting pen to paper with our drafting expertise allows us to develop comprehensive drawings to aid in the construction of a project. Exacting details outlining everything from finish placement to lighting design, including cabinetry details, tile layouts, specifications and custom fixture design are only a few of the elements documented in our exceedingly thorough drawings. We provide specification schedules as a reference point for placement of each and every material and fixture.

PURCHASING & administration

Once all the elements of a design are in place, our team coordinates and finalizes items for purchase, fine tune timelines and manages on-site construction work and installations. We meet with millworkers, fabricators, painters and various other trades people to make sure every detail is reviewed prior to commencing production. We accompany our partners to complete on site measurements for window treatments and custom cabinetry as well. When the unexpected happens, we are immediately working to troubleshoot the issue at hand, whether it’s a delayed shipment or replacing anything that doesn’t meet our exact specifications and standards.

INSTALLATION

LAST, but not least, our team coordinates installation of furnishings including window treatments, built-in case pieces, decorative lighting, bedding, rugs, pillows and accessories, which vary based on the phases each project requires. We manage the delivery, installation and positioning of all fixtures and furnishings, and often curate and install accessories and artworks with homeowners’ new or existing treasures to give each home its final layer. After a project is installed, we provide our clients with a closeout manual, including specifications, warranties and care instructions.
